Some useful links for your art presentations

Here you have some useful advice and a collection of links you can use to prepare your art presentations. Remember that your analysis has to include this information:

- Title of the painting.
- Author
- Chronology
- Information about the person or institution who commissioned the painting.
- Material used to paint it (tempera, oil, watercolour...)
- Description of the painting: what is represented, colours, shapes, use of light...
- Meaning of the painting: symbols used, purpose of the artist...
- Why the painting can be considered a Renaissance work of art
- More interesting information: importance of the painting in art history, influence in other artists...

And these are some useful links you can use for your previous research:

MUSEO DEL PRADO
Click on "Galería on line" and "A fondo" and you will find information about paintings such as Adam and Eve (Albrecht Dürer), The Garden of the Earthly Delights (Hyeronimus Bosch), Emperor Charles V at Mühlberg and Danae and the shower of gold (Titian).

Remember that you have to understand the information you´re going to present to the others. It would be better that you look for the information in Spanish first, prepare a scheme and organize what you´re going to explain. When you have all this, you can start preparing your composition in English. You can use links in English for the specific vocabulary, but don´t fall into them temptation of copying and pasting things you don´t understand. Your explanation doesn´t have to be long. The purposes of this project are that you learn about Renaissance style, the complexity of some works of art and that you explain your discoveries to other people. Use simple and understandable sentences and write your own explanation. The information you get is only the first part of the project. With it, you will have to elaborate your own analysis.

Remember that the deadline for this project is on the 13th June. If you have any questions or doubts, please contact by e-mail.

The deadline is on the 13th June. Not next Monday, but in two Mondays. And you don´t have to do a glog. You have to analyze the painting you have "won" on the lottery, write your work and prepare a short oral presentation for the 13th June. I will have the paintings on a Powerpoint presentation and the students will come to the whiteboard and explain their conclusions. You have to bring what you have prepared on paper and hand it in at the end of the lesson. And if you need my help or you want me to check what you have prepared before the 13th, you can ask me in the classroom or by mail.

Check the Museo del Prado link (the "A fondo" section) There is a lot of information about your painting.

Have a nice weekend
