Update: recent changes in Spain´s politics

There have been some changes of faces in Spain´s politics recently. After the last local and autonomous elections, there have been some changes in the presidency of some Autonomous Communities in Spain. Except for the new  president of Navarre, who is a member of UPN, all the new presidents belong to the Popular Party (PP) or were former members of this party. This is the case of the new president of Asturias, who created a new party called Foro Asturias, because he was not designated as candidate for the presidency of the Principality by his former party. Here you have the new faces:

ARAGÓN

LUISA FERNANDA RUDI

ASTURIAS

FRANCISCO ÁLVAREZ CASCOS

BALEARIC ISLANDS

JOSÉ RAMÓN BAUZÀ

CANTABRIA

JUAN IGNACIO DIEGO

CASTILLA-LA MANCHA

MARÍA DOLORES DE COSPEDAL

VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

The last change happened yesterday and it was not motivated by the result of the past elections. Francisco Camps, who was elected president some weeks ago, resigned due to his involvement in a corruption scandal,  uncovered by the investigations of Gürtel case. The new president will be Alberto Fabra, who held the post of mayor in Castellón until yesterday.

And there has been a remodelation of the government as well. The exit of Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, the PSOE candidate for the next general elections, has provoked some changes in the configuration of the ministries and the appointment of a new minister of the Interior, Antonio Camacho.

The new spokesman will be José Blanco (he keeps his post in the Ministry of Public Works) and there will only be two vice-presidents, Elena Salgado and Manuel Chaves.

Always on my mind.

Hello my friends! Sorry about my delay, but I was on holydays. How is going your summer? I hope that all of you are good.

Well, like we know this year has been unforgettable. We started the year been classmates and we has finished it been really good friends, I think that we are like a family :).

For me, this year has been the best, I have improved a lot and I have worked really hard (like most of us) because the subjects were more difficult and we have been more time studying than in another years. In Social Sciences I have learnt many things, for me, the best unit was the unit about The Catholic Monarchs because I like history and we sang the fantastic songs! The best expierence has been  make the video of ´´Tanto-Monta``.

I think that sometimes we should be more formal people, because Paqui only has done good things for us and we don´t have recognized her work. She lives for us, for her work and we have to dedicate more time to the blog, because in this way we can learn many things, we don´t have to speak so much because we lose time of the lesson to learn.

Next year, maybe we are together in some subjects so we will be some hours all together! Thanks to Paqui and Kelly because they have taught us many things and they are really good persons.

I love my class!! Happy Summer :)

And now I´m going to write a sentence in Spanish that I always remember:

No LLoréis Porque Algo Terminó, Sonreid Porque Sucedió.

I wish another year like this!!!!

Hello everybody!! I'm really sorry for the delay, but I have completely forgotten it. Yesterday I remembered and I have thought that better late than never. So, this is my last post! I'm a little exited with this, because this year has been really special and it has flown. This photo means fellowship. Because between all of us there have been fellows, I'm incuding Paqui and Kelly, and we have shown this in the video.

Well... This year, I have noticed a change, because it has been more difficult, although I have improved my marks, so I'm really happy. I have learned a lot of new things in the different subjects.

In one of the units I have learned more was in the unit of art, because when I did the explanation about my painting I enjoyed a lot, since then I love the painting of "The Garden of the Earthly delights". Apart from this I have learned a lot with all the projects we have done and I think we have worked in a nearer way interviewing people.

In the classroom, some days we spoke a lot. But I think Paqui has enjoyed with us, I hope it.

About the blog, I think it is a great way to review all we have leant in the classroom and also the new words we have known. I know this year I haven't participated a lot in it, but I promise you to participate more the next year. It is a way to approach us to the new technologies.

In this year Paqui has also worked a lot, because she has prepared a lot of PowerPoints presentations and she has invented new ways to learn and enjoy at the same time: the first project we did, about the continents, in which every group prepared it in a way and then we explained them; then, the project about the interviews. With the project about the primary sector I learnt a lot about my father's work, a lot of things I didn't know and they are very interesting things that are important to know. After that, we did the glog, in which we learnt a lot about two organizations and we also learnt how to do a glog, that is very funny. Finally, we have sung the songs and the last song with the video. I won't forget the content! With all these, we have learnt that learning and studying can be funny.

In this year, because of all these things I have liked a lot the Social Science class... and also because we have studied only a bit of History, that I dislike.

I love my classmates, I think they have done this year very pleasant. So, I WISH ANOTHER YEAR LIKE THIS!!

A new State is born: South Sudan

There is a new country in Africa today: the Republic of South Sudan. Last January the majority of the population of the Southern provinces of Sudan decided on the independence from Sudan in a referendum. The independence of the country will become official today. South Sudan is located in the East of Africa, its capital city is Juba and its population is around 9 million inhabitants. The country is born with a lot of problems: 90% of its population are illiterate, there are only 20 kilometres of asphalted roads in the whole country and violence persists in some regions. There are armed militias that continue to fight in the country and in two regions in dispute with Sudan: Abyei and South Kurdufan, the richest areas in oil resources. Oil control will be one of the most important issues in the future of all the region. It could be a possibility of getting economic resources to finance the developement of the country, but it can also be a source of conflicts.
