40,000 visits!

Hello everybody!
Today we have a commemorative post because we have reached to 40,000 visits (and counting). As we know, we have many visits from other countries as the USA, India, the UK, Canada and some other places, for all this, we should participate more on the blog, writing and commenting the classmates and teachers' post, because this is YOUR blog!

We promise to continue writing many interesting things from this subject: Social Sciences.

Waiting for the 50,000 visits!

All of us together, unforgettable

In my opinion, this year has been very special. We have learned a lot of Social Sciences and English. But there is a thing that has changed the way of learn: the blog.

With the blog, we have interchange opinions, we have improved our writing skills and it has been a new way of communication and extension of the lessons with more contents. Thanks to our work (more from ones than from others) the blog has grown a lot in these 9 months, reaching nearly 30,000 visits.
Apart from the blog, thanks to the book that Paqui did, we have learned a lot, from economy and organization of societies to the story of the Catholic Monarchs and the Empire of Charles V. For me, the most interesting unit was the one that talked about economy, because it shows how the world works. Last units we have seen about history are also very interesting because it provides us culture about the past of our country.
This year we have also learned some alternatives to do projects, like projects from interviews (like the ones we did with the units of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors) and new tools like Glogster, on which we can do an interactive poster (like the one we did with the organizations of the world).
Next year I would like to continue with this blog and continue learning Social Sciences and English in the same way as this year!
See you soon!! :D

Friday, 7th May 2011

On Friday, in the Social Sciences class we read the point 5 "Economy and society in the 15th Century in Castile and Aragon" and we copied from the blackboard who were the "pagesos de remensa", catalan peasants linked to land and submitted to a lot of unfair rules called malos usos. These peasants revolted against their lords and the "pagesos de remensa" revolt finished with the Sentence of Guadalupe (1486).

We also read the point 6 "Religious policy" and Paqui told us her idea about a new challenge: In this week's challenge there aren't questions, the challenge is to do a glog about the Inquisition and we have to have it for next Friday, it's a good idea to improve our glog skills but the problem I see is that this week we have a lot of homework and two exams... we'll see.

The Inquisition did this, but why? Discover it doing the challenge!

Remember that the homework Paqui gave us on Friday is to do a scheme of the point 5.

I have written the journal because Juan Carlos didn't write it.
Please check my mistakes.
Bye!!
PS: Study for the exams!

Wednesday 13th of April

Today in Social Sciences at the beginning of the class we have been with the laptops because in the previous class we were finishing the newspaper, but we have put the laptops away. Then Paqui has given us the crossword of this Unit, she has told us to do it in fifteen minutes without looking the book and writting in a different colours the words that we didn't remember. Afterwards, we have checked the crossword and we have passed to a different exercise: a map about the different provinces of every autonomous communities of Spain, but we didn't remember most of them because we haven't talked about them since we were in the school. Paqui has showed us an interactive map on the whiteboard to complete our exercise. At the end of the class Paqui has told us to finish other exercise in which we have to write the capital city of each Autonomous
Community.

.

Then the class has finished and Paqui has asked to write the journal and Daniel has said "Javi" and Paqui has told me to write the journal.
Some interesting information for us is that the exam of this Unit will have only one part if we pass the project that we have to do about the organizations of the world.
And remember to bring the memory stick and an idea about how are you going to do the work.

Bye!
Javi

Wednesday 25th of January

Today we have finished the Unit 3, so for homework we have to do the crossword in the photocopy that Silvia has given us and the exercises 25, 26 and 27 of the Review.
The exam of this unit is going to be on the 4th of February, all the unit for the people who didn't pass the project and only of fishing and the Primary Sector in Spain for people who passed the project.

In this picture we can see an old gold mine in La Cabrera (Madrid).

Afterwards we have started the new unit, The Secondary and Tertiary Sectors and Paqui has explained us the projects that we have to do if we don't want to do all the exam which are in the pages 48 and 53, they are about the Secondary or Tertiary Sectors.

Then we have copied the index of the unit and we have read the page 43. In that page we have seen that mining is a very important activity because we need the minerals to make a lot of things that we use in our life but is also a very dangerous activity because mines are dangerous. But like is very important, there are a lot of problems with mining, there are wars, like the First African War caused by the fights for the control of coltan mines.
In the Secondary Sector we also include the production of energy, that is also very important. We classify the energy sources in renewable, like solar power, and non renewables, like the oil.

In this picture we can see an oil field in Neuquén (Argentina)

Study for all the exams of tomorrow! Bye!

8th October 2010

Today at the beginning of the class we have checked the exercise about the review of Spain's climates, which are the mediterranean, oceanic, continental mediterranean, mountain and subtropical climates. After Paqui has explained us all about the project we will do about a continent. She has told us the groups, my group is formed by Daniel Rodríguez, Ana de la Fuente, Laura Meco, Beatriz Yuste and I and we have to talk about America, that is very long, so we have to distribute the work. We will do a PowerPoint presentation and a cardboard with the information. In the work we have to talk about the relief and the climates of the continent.

Today the class was very interesting, we are going to do the project so I hope we won't have an exam...
