Hello class!

I'm Silvia and this is my firts journal because It's my first year with Paqui.

Today in Social Sciences lesson we have started reviewing what we did yesterday and then, she asked where was Sara and Alfredo said that she was in the doctor.

Then we started with the decline of the hispanic empire which were governed by: Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II.

Philip III                                        Philip IV                                             Charles II

Paqui told us that spanish monarchy loss importance, the population were unhappy with the kings because they were changing the capital of the kingdom when they wanted to buy new territories cheaper. For example: the capital was Madrid and the king wanted to buy territories but there were very expensive so he decided to move the capital to Aragon, buy new territories in Madrid because were cheaper and then moved again the capital to Madrid.

Paqui has explained us who were the validos. They were members of the privileged estates (nobles or members of the clergy) who ruled on behalf of the kings, because they didn't want to work or they were not able to ride.

We have copied a part of the presentation which was compound of the twelve years truce, expulsion of the moorish and the devaluation of currency.

Then, we have asked Paqui how did she learnt english. She told us that she had learn french in school and she has explained to us that her story with the english was very curious because she started learning english with a TV program which was dedicated to teach english to spanish people. Then, she decided to continue learning english and she has said that she learn a lot teaching us.

For the last we have copied a scheme of the decline of the hispanic empire and we have to complete it at home.

We have copied some important words in Glossary which are:

-Decline: decadencia.
-Valido: valido.
-To mint: acuñar (moneda).
-Copper: cobre.
-Truce: tregua.
-Harmful: dañino, perjudicial.
-Influence peddling: tráfico de influencia.
-Flaw: defecto.
-Flawless: sin defectos.

See you on thursday!

Hello Silvia and welcome!
You have some mistakes because you haven't writen in the past participle you have to write "Paqui has told us". The kings weren't changing the capital city, only the valido of Philip III (Duke of Lerma)and he changed the capital citty in Valladolid no in Aragón.And taht's all that I want to say to you.. Bye , bye ! See you tomorrow Silvia!

Hello Silvia!
Very good your first Journal the only thing I can tell you that Stefania hasn't told you is that in the first or second line you have written "firts" and the correct expelling is "first"
Good work!! See you!

Hello,

These are my corrections. As Stefania told you, the verbs have to be in present perfect. You can't mix verb tenses:

- she hasasked where Sarawas and Alfredo has said that she was at the doctor.

- Then we have started with the decline of the Hispanic Empire, which was governed by: Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II.

- You have mixed the pictures: the king in the middle is Charles II and the king on the right is Philip IV. You should place them in order and you have to include the Internet source of each picture

- hastold us that the Hispanic monarchy lost importance.

- I didn't say that the poulation was unhappy. I explained that the Duke of Lerma used his influence over the king to become rich: he bought land in Valladolid at a very cheap price and convinced the king to move the captal city to Valladolid, not to Aragón, as Stefania told you. Some years later, he did the same in Madrid: he bought properties in Madrid at cheaper price and convinced the king to move the capital city to Madrid again. You should rewrite all this paragraph.

- has explained us who the validos were

- they were not able to rule.

- ...which was formed by the Twelve Years Truce, expulsion of the Moorish and the devaluation of currency.

- The names of languages are in capital letters: Englis, French, Spanish

- ...how (did) she learnt english. She told us that she had learnt french in school and she has explained (to) us that...
she learns a lot teaching us.

- (For the last) Finally we have copied a scheme of the decline of the Hispanic Empire and we have to complete it at home.

- Thursday

Include the caption of the picture and explain why you have included it.

I think you forgot part of the contents of the lesson. We didn't only speak about Philip III. We also studied Philip IV's reign. The journal has to include the content of the lesson, not only the anecdotes.

That's all. Bye!

You disn't correct anything. You have to take your work more seriously.
