Wednesday, November 3rd

Today in Social Sciences, the people who didn´t do the maps in the right way or the people who didn´t hand in the maps on time, have done an exam about the relief of the continents. While they were doing the exam, the other part of the class have done some exercises about economy. One has consisted in writing three examples of activities consisting in producing goods and three examples of rendering services. In´´Producing goods`` we have written: Stockbreeding, craftsmanships, agriculture, industry... They form part of the primary sector. In ´´Rendering services`` we have write: security, trade, education, transportation... in this group most of the jobs belong to the tertiary sector. After checked this exercise, Paqui has asked to some of us about the job of our parents, and most of our parents work in the tertiary sector. Then we have done five exercises more of the review and they have been very easy, because this unit is easy to understand. Finally Paqui has drawn on the blackboard some pictures that represented the capialists and the workers´s diferences.

We have to read the comic called ECONOMY ACCORDING TO CALVIN, and write the words related to ecnomy for homework.

This unit is interesting because this topic is very present in our lives.

Hello Rebeca,

It seems as if you hadn´t finished your post. I think you wanted to write something more. Remember also that you have to add some picture related to what we have studied today. Maybe something about economic activities (some examples would be perfect) or something about market economy/ capitalism.

One correction of vocabulary: in English they say "tertiary sector".

I´m looking forward to read the end of your post and see the pictures you include. Bye!

Ana, Yolanda and I have asked Paqui if we could do the exercises together, and she has told us that yes, we could.
The people who had to do the exam, has sit at the begining of the class, and the rest, at the end.
Rebeca! I've seen a few grammar mistakes:
You have written: the people that didn't have the physical maps of the continets GOOD... in my opinion it sounds better if you write RIGHT, in stead of good.
I think that it would be better if you put:
"(...) One has consisted in WRITING three..."
But, Paqui please, tell me if i'm right or wrong because i'm not sure about the two last corrections.
Remember, you should write in the present perfect:
"we have write is not right, you must put, we have WRITTEN"
And in the word capitalism there is a t missing.
That's all, and I think it is a very complete post!

Hello again, Rebeca. Good work with the journal. I also like the picture you´ve chosen. I think it fits very well with some ideas that appeared in the question "How does economy work?" We´ll learn more ecomomic concepts in the following days.

Answering to Laura´s questions, you have done some right corrections: the ones about the verb tenses are O.K and also the spelling mistake in "capitalists". With regard to the first sentence, I would rather say: "the people who didn´t complete/do the maps in the right way and the people who didn´t hand in the maps on time". You´re improving in grammar a lot. This is one of the purposes of this project: to learn everyday in different ways ;)

Rebeca, one last thing: remember to include a title for your post. It can be the date or something related with Unit 2. Thanks in advance.
