I like the first cartoon. In my opinion it representates really good the actually economy. It's true what the cartoons say and I think this is very unfair.

Yes, one of the most controversial aspects of capitalist is that workers don´t receive much of the wealth they produce. As you say, this is really unfair.

the first cartoon is true and more now with the crisis, the ambition of the people who have power and money.
They always want more and more and they normally don't care of the people who work to them. At the moment many of this capitalists do this and they don't care to destroy families, reduced salaries, they never want to suffer or to work more.

Bye.

It is a pity, but it is true.

The first cartoon is nice by the drawings and we can think to elavorate the second cartoon doing t-shirts.

Just kidding, but it would be nice for the newspaper jaja

bye.

The main problem of capitalism is that the owners of the capital and the means of production control the economy and impose their opinions for their own benefit. Workers are more, but they are not aware of their power many times. In the past workers fought a lot to improve their job conditions and they got a lot of rights and better salaries. But the conditions have changed now and we are losing many of these rigths. The State can also do a lot of things correct the unfair situations related to the distribution of economic resources.

Tomorrow we´ll learn about socialism, the alternative system to capitalism, its failure and also how the States intervene in economy.

I like the second cartoon a lot, because it shows the essence of capitalism: you can do business in every situation and you can take advantage even of economic crisis to invent a new business and do money. I think the cartoonist has been very smart.

Yolanda, I think your idea of doing T-shirts is very good. You´re starting to think as a capitalist!
I hope you treat your workers fairly ;)

I think tha there was a period in which the capitalists had a lot of wealths, and now with the crisis they are without job and they are living a total different life without so much money and they have to survive with their families, but many peolple have live in this way a lot of years because the capitalists were the ´´best`` and they have for give and take jajaa, this is very unfair like Laura said but the live is make in this way and we have to fight to be all in the same conditions.

Hello Rebeca, welcome to the comments. I don´t think many capitalist have had problems with the economic crisis. The problems are for the workers. The owners of companies have always more economic resources to face economic crisis, because they have capital and properties and they don´t have problems to get loans. If they decide to cut expenses, it is very common that they start firing workers. The workers have less resources and if they lose their jobs and they don´t have access to loans, they have really hard times. This crisis is being particullarly hard, because the governments are taking advantage of it to reduce some workers´ rights. And, for the first time, experts think that the next generation will have a worse life than the present generation. There will be hard times, but harder for the ones that have less resources.

See you on Monday!
