MONDAY 10-10-11

Today in Social Sciences we have corrected the exercises that we had not corrected the other day.
After we have started to spoke about painting. We have spoken about Caravaggio that always had problems with people.
Then we have copied a scheme of the main features of paintings in that period.
We have seen some examples of paintings of this period. Many of these paintings are the paintings that we had to explained in the project. We have seen the Converss of Saint Paul on the way of Damascus, the Crucifixion of Saint Peter, Paqui has told us that between two painting there is a relationship because in the both paintings the saints are looking to the cross.We have also seen the Calling of Saint Mathew, Death of the Virgin, the Three Graces, the Duke of Lerma etc.
We have also seen 3 of the 90 Rembrant's self portraits.
Afterwards we have started to see the Baroque in Spain. We have seen architecture, sculpture and painting. The main characteristics in Spain were religious theme, realistic, dramatic image, the commissioners were the kings and the Church, oil on cavas was the main technique, contrasts of light and shadows. The main painters were Ribera, Jose Rubelta, Bartolome Esteban Murillo, Francisco Zurbaran, Diego de Silva and Velazquez. Some of the most important paintings in Spain were the chillfooted boy, Still life with pottery jars, The Hollly Family with a bird, The Drunks....
We have been surprised because Paqui has told us tha Philip IV raped a nun and to give perdon he commissioned to Velazquez the painting of Crist on the cross.
This has been today's class Paqui hasn't had given us anything to homework.

Hi everybody!

This three years for me have been very important. The most important have been this last year.

This year we have been together so we were very union.

With Paqui we have learnt many things and we have done very interesting projects about agriculture and the secodary sector. With this project we have learnt a lot about our town.

The idea about the blog I think it was great because we have improved our English and people that not take part of the group can see what we do in Social Sciences.

Paqui thank you because you always are there to help us and give advice and Kelly thank you to taught us a lot of English and always listen us.

I'll never forgot this year and althought our live take differents roads we are always be together.

You are the best.

And Paqui next year I'm going to study more and my behavior are going to be better I promise you

Today Ana Margarita has been in the class with us. At the beginning of the class Paqui has givethe marks of our glogs, also she has told us that for the exam we are going to have a question about the projects of our mates, we have to choose one project and said the purpose, the members... When she has finished with that we have started to correct the exercises that she has given to us on Monday. These exercises were from 6 to 10. After that we have started the point 4:REFORMS THEY MADE:AUTHORITARIAN MONARCHY. We have copied a scheme about the authoritarian monarchy that we have divided into two parts: Purpose and decisions. This last part have two parts: in Castile and in Aragon. When we have finished coping it the bell has rang so for homework we don't have exercises. Also Paqui has also said to us that if someone want an explanation of the mark of his project we can speak to her in the break time and she has said to the people that on friday we are not going to go to her class the exercises for Monday. This was the class of today. Bye Bye

Wednesday, 2nd of March

Today the person that was in charge of writting the journal was Juan Carlos but he didn't write it.

Today we had to give to Paqui the project about the tertiary sector or the secondary sector. After that we have finished the unit because we only have to read the tertiary sector in Spain: Trade, transport, communications and tourism. Then we have said her same doubts. Paqui has given us the exercises that left of the page of the review sheet and for homework she has given us to do the crossword for Wednesday because on Friday we are not going to have class because we are going to go Tomelloso to see a play and on Monday we don't have class because it's CARNIVAL!

Today in social sciences we have corrected the exercises from 11 to 14 of the page 56.

Then Paqui has showed us some graphics about the renewable energies in Spain has and in other countries. Then we have read the page about the industry in Spain. Then Paqui has showed some graphics too about all these things. For example in Germany there is less amount of fields where we produce with renewable energy but they produce more amount of renewable enegy and Spain have more fields were produce renewable energy but we produce less amount of time.We have been commenting on outsourced companies and the Playfair Compaign. . At the beggining of the class Paqui was very angry with us because she said that we always come late! and because some of us don't stop taking and don't pay attention, even if she ask us to be silent!At the end of the class she has given us for homework exercises from 14 to 17. I couldn't write the journal before because I was in extracurricular class. Sorry!!

Hello!

Today we have checked the crossword. Paqui has told us that there were some mistakes in the questions 13, 14 and 15. We didn't know what dumping was so Paqui has explained us what dumping is: a selling strategy , consisting on selling products with a very low price in order to eliminate competitions. After we corrected it Paqui has given us a better definition of capitalism, so she has told us the best definition. Then she has explained us how much money the European Union has given to Ireland to rescue their banks, a total of 100,000 million € and she has explained us our economic crisis.

When we have finished it we have started to do an oral summary of the unit. While she was explaining it, some students were studying Physic and Chemistry; so Paqui has told us that it wasn't good and then she has told all the people that this year we are worse than last year and she has also said us that this year she can't teach because we are always speaking and doing other things, so today she has been very angry.

HELLO!!!!

We are the students of Social Sciences of the high school Isabel Perillán y Quirós in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real)

This is a new project of this class. This class is formed by 25 students and the teacher Paqui!!

This class of Social Sciences is in English, because we are in the European Section. This is the third year of this program and also the third school year that we do Social Sciences in English.
