Do we repeat it?

Hello classmates/friends! hahaha
Well.. this year has been very important for me, but also one of the hardest years.
I have learnt many things and I have improved in my studies. I think also that I have matured more and it's an important thing for life.

The lessons whit Paqui have been great because she has prepared powerpoint presentations, she has made us to do projects about paintings, industries... or she has prepared challenges, so that we can learn more. She does all these things to teach us and to be prepared for the future. The thing that I've liked more has been the song that Paqui did about the history of Isabel of Castile and Fernando of Aragon, it's a fantastic idea and an easy way to learn the history in this way.

About my classmates... they have been the best because with them I have had a good time everyday and they are a great support, they have always been there when I have needed help and I thank them for all.
I would like to repeat this year (but with an easier level) with all of them and with the teachers because I have seen that I can improve a lot and it makes me feel better.

I won't forget you!

Spend a good holidays friends!

Today in Social Sciences, Paqui has given us the maps and she has explained how we had to do the map of the Catholic monarch's possessions, because the maps weren't well done the first time.
Then, she has asked us some questions about the reformation and the new religion that appeared. She also has showed us the map of Europe after the reformation with the different religions in the different places of Europe, for example: Catholic, Lutheranism, Calvinism...
After that, Paqui has done a small scheme on the blackboard about the two groups of Calvinists, which were:
- In France -> Huguenots.
- In Scotland -> Puritans.
We have continued reading what were Calvinism and Anglicanism, the other Protestant currents.
Calvinisms believed in the predestination doctrine and they also considered work and enrichment through business as signs of divine grace and they had the two groups that I have said before: Huguenots and Puritans.
Anglicanims was related to a dispute between King Henry VIII of England and the Pope, because the king wanted to annul his marriage with Catalina of Aragon to marry with Ann Boleyn, but the Pope refused. So Henry VIII proclaimed the Act of Supremacy and declared himself as Head of the Church of England.
We have continued with this point, and we have seen a table about the differences of Catholics and Protestants with the doctrine, cult and organization of each one.
To finished the class, we have read the counter-reformation, which it was the reaction of the Catholic Church to Reformation. They taken some meausures and some changes had to be done. We have known what was the Council of Trent, it served to defend the Catholic dogmas and to introduce some corrections. Their main decisions were:
- Reaffirmation of the Catholic dogmas.
- The only valid interpretation of the Bible was the Vulgate, the translation of the Bible to Latin made by Saint Jerome.
- Prohibition of selling indulgences.
- Creation of seminaries to educate the clergy.
- Catechism to educate the children.
- Priests and bishops were obliged to live in their dioceses, behave properly and keep celibacy.
At the end of the class, Paqui has given us the exercise 3 on page 91 about the things we have studied today.

Hello everybody!

Today in Social Sciences, Paqui has said us the final marks and she has said that we have to send her the projects about secondary and tertiary sector, so don't forget! Also she has talked about the make up exam, if you study you will able to pass, so luck in the exam!
After that, Yolanda Rubio, Beatriz Yuste and Yolanda Abad have checked the exercises about the democracy, Constitution and universal sulffrage. Paqui has explained us the universal sulffrage. It's all the people who have the legal age can vote, without exception.
Then we have to go on reading the unit and Paqui has explained us with summaries:
· The division of powers: power isn't concentrated, but divided into three parts and held by different institutions:
- Executive power, the Governmen.
- Legislative power, the Parliament
- Judicial power, the Courts of Justice.
· How can be democracy:
- Direct democracy -> the citizens make the decisions directly. Paqui has explained us the example of Albacete Town hall: 1,000,000,000 € are annual budget and 1/3 of the budget is administered by the citizens. The citizens of the different districts of the city meet in assemblies and decide how to invest the money.
- Representative -> the citizens choose their representatives and these representatives make the decisions. Spain is an example of this kind

At the end of the class Paqui has given us some exercises on page 66 (9 to 12) .
So this is all for today, that you'll have a good weekend!
See you soon!

PD: I want to remember that today one year ago we were in London!

Hello everybody!

Sorry, I could not write the diary yesterday, because I didn't know...

Well... Yesterday we reviewed the bodies of water and the parts of a river. Then Paqui explained what's wadi, it's a river bed of the desert that only carries water when it rains.

After that she showed us the PowerPoint presentation and meanwhile we were giving the definitions.

At the end she gave us a sheet of exercises to do with two crosswords. And I think that this was all for yesterday.

Nice weekend!
