Wendsday 9th of May



Today was the last day to correct our project and upload it to slideshare, everyone can watch my project in the post below.

Today we are going to finish with the Power Point about the Russian Revolution.

We have reviewed a little bit, the USSR was a totalitarian state with only one party, most times the leader of the Communist party was the president of the USSR .

Now we continued with new things,  production was very low and Stalin decided to insured the new economic policy. Giving Land to peasants and factories to workers, economy recover very quickly with this new policy.

Later we have talk about digital withe board in the high school there are 7 new ones and 200 notebooks for 1st year ESO students. Next year there will be 15 teachers less and  the Junta spend the money in this?

And no money for photocopies. If our necessities were covered this would be hopeful.

After this news break we continued with the Power Point: the fight for the power between Trotsky and Stallin.
Stallin wants to spread comunism througt war and Trotsky throught  imitation and peace. So Stallin reach more spport than Trotsky and Trostky went to exile out of the USSR in 1924.
As Trotsky was exiled Stallin send a Spainish man to kill Trotsky, he was Ramón Mercader who killed Trotsky with a piolet, the thing wich climbers use.

Now Manu have askesd Paqui, how was the realtion between Stallin and Lenin, for Paqui this is a good question. Lenin didn´t like Stallin, beacause for him he was a dangerous criminal and at the same time he didn´t like Trotsky. In 1953 Stallin died and there were different presidents of the USSR:
  • Kuoshev
  • Brezhnev
  • Chernenko
  • Andropov
  • Corvachov

And now the last point of the unit Stallinism
The goverment stablished the centre plan economy. So they planned economy for five years.


The goverment of the USSR also priority heavy industry.

If the factories didn´t reach the spectatives they have a big problem and this system is not wrong
So the owners of the factories change the numbers. If they produce more thwt is planned the sold the rest of the product in the black market.


In the last years of the USSR it was very difficult to find eggs, one egg 40€.Kelly told us something about that last year.

28th of March

Toda in social sciences we have started talking about the art project and the main things the Power point will have to include:

-A cover
-A índex
-Cronology and main features
-Main artists and their main paintings
 -Explanation of works of art of every style
-Last slide for credits and bibliography

 People who are in computer science with Guillermo will have to do some technical things that Guillermo will tell to the students after eastern holidays.
 Everyone will have to do a complete style except people who have Goya that is very complete.
 After that Paqui has given us the subjects of the project. I have "Art nuveau and Antonio Gaudi".

 Paqui said that we have to read everything in the book for her it is very concis and very helpfull. The project will be presented the last week of April. In the project we don't have to copy and paste or use the google translator we have to look for information in Spanish and later when we understand the information we can translate it into English. Afterwards we have continued with unit WWI with exercise 1 from the review about the main causes of it Dani have corrected it :
-Rivalry between colonial powers: Colonialim increased tension between countries.
-Confrontation between different European powers
 -Investion in weapons (armed peace)
-Exacerbation of nationalism Later we have see the growing of tension before 1914.

There were several crisis which incriased And we're on the brink of provoking a war.
-Two crises in Morroco which increased tension between France and Germany.
-Two crises in the Bulkans which increased tension between Austro-Hungarians and Russia After that we have copied an scheme about all this things about the growing of tension.

 Later we have read the outbreak or the trigger of the war People in the Balkans want to created a unified state so nationalists try to kill Sarajevo, at the end nationalists kill Sarajevo and Austro-Hungarians acused Serbia and give an ultimatum to Serbia. Serbia said NO and the Austro Hungarian invaded it and with the alliances in two day Europe was in war. At the end of the war the U.K. And France win the war.

Today in social sciences Bea A. and Carmen have made the exam of last unit. While we have corrected some exercises about colonialism:

  • Dani has corrected exercise 4 about the main causes of colonialism: 
                 -Economic reasons: cheap raw materials
                 -Demographic reasons: high increased of population
                 -Polithical reasons: control of estrategic places

  • Afterwards Mariluz have corrected exercise 5 about the justification of colonialism: They said they have a responsability of civilizating the last developed territories of the colonies. It was racism. Yolanda R. have said that are people are equal , we have the same gens. In the 19th century Charles Darwin in the theory of evolution said: that survivals were the oné of the most  adapted species. This is calles Social Darwinism wich was applied by the nazis to express their superiority  against other races. In translation of the theory of species to societies the most educated societies were superior and white people were superior than other people in the colonies. 
  • Races eugenics: eliminating all the human beings with physical or mental disabilityand sterilized people with this problem.

  • Andrea have corrected exercise 6 about axtitudes about colonialism:
                    -Most of the population didn´t have an actitude towards colonialism
                    -Most of the politicians were in favour ofd colonialism as Jules Ferry (France) and Benjamin Diesraeli (U.K.) 
                    -Trade unionist and some socialist politicians were against colonialism defending the right of  people deciding by themshelves George Clemencau (France) and Lenin were against it.

After that Paqui has read two texts in Spanish one in favour and one against colonialism we have to deduce them.
  •  Sara has corrected exercise 7 about types of colonialism: 
                  -Colonies of explotation: They totally depend to the metopolis with no goverment
                  -Colonies of settlement: they have an autonomous goverment but the exterior policy was correspond to the metropolis 
                  -Protectorates: They were independent in theory but really they were someted by the metropolis laws
  • I have corrected exercise 9 about the Berlin conference: In 1885 a convention proposed by Otto Von Bismarck was celebrated in Berlinto stablished some rules about coloniasm and avoid some problwms btween european countries. This conference meant a scramble for Africa:
                  -They created the Congo free state
                  -Rivers were free for navigation
                  - The countrie that ocupied the coast could also go to the interior

They give a place in Africa to the king Leopold the II. In this place the king exploid people to take out rubber as if it was a private property and if they didn´t collect the quantity of rubber he said the cut the hands.

22.12.11

Today in social sciences we have had a calm lesson.
At the beginning of the lesson Paqui has told our marks with a comment. My comment was that my notebook was a disaster and that i work very few that I copied all the exercises from the blackboard, I don´t participate in the blog at all and my first exam was horrible (but the second was good) in other words, I pass.

About the projects Paqui has said "I want to correct people's projects no machines' projects" because some people have used the translator for their projects.

When Paqui was trying to say all the marks we have received the visit of some Paqui ex-pupils. She has said they were very lovely and after that, some girls of the class have run to hug Paqui. Paqui has liked this visit.

As this afternoon Yolanda and me have a german exam we have practised the dialogue for all the class and Paqui has corrected all our mistakes. We have discovered Paqui knows German. She knows about everything!

For this Christmas holidays we have somethings for homework: we have to read all the new unit and write all the new words in the glossary. We have to dp exercises 20,22,23,24,25 of page 22.

At the end of the lesson, people who failed the exam have fixed the date of the make up exam. It is on the 16th of January.

Everyone has told merry Christmas to Paqui and a happy new year to her.

5th of October


Today in social sciences we haven´t got class because Paqui has been on strike as the 90% of the teachers of the High school. Jose Ángel the head of studies has told us to go because the high school doesn´t have enough teachers of Guardia.

The strike has been called because the cuts in education are very hard and education level  is lower.
The president of Castile La Mancha, Mª Dolores de Cospedal has opted for an austerity policy, cutting in the most needed sectors;
                                     

-Education
-Health Care

The cuts in education include the firing up of 800 teachers, work to hours more, they won´t pay holidays to substitute teachers and teachers, less money for the high School.
The community will earn more than 80 million of €uros
The increasing of this two teaching hours is bad for students because the library will be closed during this year, teachers will have less hours to attend students and this year go on a trip will be very difficult.
When arrived this morning there were some teachers were striking.
This morning we only have 2 lessons of the 6 we have:

-Religion
-Spanish language

In my opinion is good to be n strike to fight for our rights. I think the president of Castile La Mancha won´t stop with the cuts but this strike will make that cuts lighters. If the cuts continued education will be worse. 


Tomorrow is the students strike, some students will go on strike all the day, like an excuse of not going to class. I will go on strike on 5th hour in maths, because the teacher is absent we will make a popular revolt, we will make banners with the sloggan :

An amazing year!

This has been an amazing year. We have had good moments such as the filming of the video of  "Tanto monta" and we have had bad moments, as the arguments with Paqui.

The best moment of the year has been the recording of the video "Tanto monta". In the recording of this video we have had a lot of good time.

This year we have learned many things:

-Polithics
-Economy
-Types of states
-History

Friday 15/4/11


Today in Social Sciences we have been in the althia room, I have arrived the first and Paqui has told me to look for Meco and give her the key of the class.
Later I have come back with other students. Some minutes later, Silvia has entered to the althia shouting because she can´t go to the bandas. Some students have gone and Paqui was very angry with them.
Then I have started making a scheme about the FAO (food and agriculture organization). First I have included a description of the FAO and later I had included the history of the FAO and then some actions it takes part on developing countries. Later Juan Carlos has gone to the teacher computer and has started playing with the “class perfect”: taking the control of the computers. It was very funny because he could move our mouse.
At the end of the class some computers have had an error with the blue screen and some people have loosened what they had done.

Wednesday 09/02/2011

At the beginning of the class I have gone for the remote control of the projector. Later, when I have come back, Paqui was telling things about Sudan ,the African country divided in two parts.
Paqui said that Sudan is going to beacame two different countries, there are big differences between the north part (desert, very few water…) and the south part (very green, lots of rain...).
Later Paqui has collected Africa´s maps.
Afterwards we have read “Main world industrialized regions” in the book. The main industrialized regions in the world are:
• Europe
• U.S.A.
• Japan
• China

We  have also compared where our clothes have been made. Because this morning we have seen information about industrialized countries. Industrialized developing countries where the price is lower.

Then we have seen the PowerPoint about industry and we have started seeing the PowerPoint about The secondary sector in Spain.
We have seen the main energy resource in Spain. Yolanda R. has said she uses coal in her house.
In Spain we are privilege because we have a lot of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar energy…
Later Paqui has given exercise for homework (9 to 14 from the review).
The bell has rung and Paqui has told me to write the journal.

15th of November

Today in Social Sciences Kelly has been with us.
At the beginning of the class we have corrected some exercises about:
- Purchasing Power
- Deficit
- Surplus
- Economy
- Types of Economy
- Economic Agents

Afterwards we have talked about taxes:

Those ones which the state take directly (the tax return ). And those ones that are taken indirectly: V.A.T. (Value added tax) in Spanish, I.V.A.




Later we have talked about fiscal fade. Fiscal frude means tax evasion (don´t pay taxe to the state) If people do that they can go to the jail (Julian Muñoz with his rubish bags), we have talked about “with V.A.T. or Without V.A.T” too, this is a typical sentence that autonomous and home sellers say, and if they earn less money they will pay less to the state.

Then we have talked about tax havens (the places where there aren´t taxes to people there are only taxes to banks, it´s a good place to hide from a state goverment too). It is very curious that in Spanish the Translation is wrong. “Tax haven” a safe place for money but in the spanish translation confuse to "Tax heaven" that means Paradise. It´s very interesting. Which more things will Paqui the explorer discover?

-Page 29: Exercise 20

24th of September 2010

Today in Social Sciences Paqui has returned the maps of America. Later we have played some games about South and Central America. In one game we needed to locate a country in a map. In another game we had to say the name of a country knowing its capital city and in the last game we needed to say the capital city knowing the country. After we have played password about America. In some letters Paqui has included European countries because it is very difficult to have one country for each letter. Later we have started to see unit one´s PowerPoint presentation. This unit we are going to do a project work about the physical geography of the continents and word climates. The people who work hard and take the project seriously, won´t have to pass an exam. But the lazy people will have to do it.
