At the beginning of the class Paqui has told the students a solution to give her the Power Point presentations if they are too heavy and they can't be uploaded to the e-mail. The solution is called Dropbox, where you can upload your things and share them with other people. After that we have continued with the Russian Revolutions.

In the Russian Revolutions of 1917 people asked for "peace, land and bread" to the government that didn't like to the majority of the people. The tsar, Nicholas II, defeated by the pressure, abdicated. After that, a republic was proclaimed in Russia and a provisional government was proclaimed, but they didn't do what people wanted and what they promised to do. With this, the Bolsheviks increased their influence.In 1917 there was a revolution in Russia. People wanted the tsar to abdicate, the end of the war and bread.Paqui has explained us what happened in Russia during the World War I.
With the increase of the influence of the Bolsheviks, Lenin came back from his exile and they issued his "April Theses" that was the political program of the Bolsheviks. They made a failed attemp to seize power.
In October 1917 the Bolsheviks organized an uprising in the main cities and they took power. Their government was led by Lenin.
They did some urgent decisions and they lost many territories but they did what people wanted them to do.

When Paqui has explained all this she has told us to do the exercise 9 on page 59, that is a scheme of all this things.
As a curious thing in today's class, Paqui has explained us that the city that we know now as St. Petersburg, changed its name many times during the history. It was first called St. Petersburg, then it changed its name to Petrograd, after to Leningrand, when it was under the power of the Soviet Union and at the end it recovered its original name. The term "grad (gorod)" means "city" in Russian.

As usual, you have done a really good work, I haven't found any mistake.
An interesting thing you could include is that we have said that today it's the anniversary of the Peninsular War!
You could also add the information Paqui has explained us about the events that took place during April and July in the Bolshevik Revolution.

Well done, but I think you could organize the information better. You´ve started saying that the tsar abdicated, but first of all you should say what the content of today´s class was and you haven´t explained why the tsar abdicated(war, protests...)
You could also explain why Saint Petersburg changed its name so many times in the 20th century. Its second name was only Petrograd and under the Soviet Union its name was Leningrad. Do you remember what does "grad (gorod)" mean in Russian?
We say "to make a decision".

Well done! There are other examples: Volgograd (literally "the city on banks of Volga river"), whose name was changed to Stalingrad during the existence of the USSR, Nizhni Novgorod, whose name was Gorky (a Russian writer)between 1932 and 1990...
