Wednesday 8th February

Today in Social Sciences we have been with Cristina because Paqui hasn't come yet.
We have started speaking about changing the date the exam but there were people who didn't want won, so the exam has not been changed,Then Cristina has shown us the power point to check the exercises.
The first exercise was about the Italian unification, the second was about the German unification and the third was about the consequences.

Sorry but I don't have the first exercise so I put the second and third.

2.GERMAN UNIFICATION

the German Confederation was formed by 38 states and the most important were: Prussia and Austria. In 1818 Prussia created a custom union, the Zollverein and explain the three wars that caused the German unification.

Bismarck knew that he neede a common cuase to unite all the Germana States and he looked for a cause billi against France, the traditional enemy of the Germans.
He manipulated a dispatch that explained the result of a conversation between Kaiser Wilhem I and The French ambossador at Erms Spa. The conversation (about the possible condidancy of Leopold Hohenzollerm to the throne of Spain) had been friendly but Bismarck manipulated the dispatch, sherpening the language and presenting the French ambassador's words as unacceptable.
France had no other option than cleclering war to Prussia.
All the German States united against France.

3.CONSEQUENCES OF THE GERMAN UNIFICATION FOR FRANCE.
-The 2nd Empire disappeared and 3rd Republic was proclaimed in France.
-France lost Alsace and Lorraina
-All the German States become united and the 2nd German Empire (Reich) was proclaime.
The French resentment against Germany remained for many years and the consequences of this war were
ONE OF THE CAUSES OF I WORLD WAR
That's all kisses ;)

  2. Yolanda, good journal but I have seen some more mistakes.
In exercise 2: Bismarck knew that he NEEDED A COMMON CAUSE,GERMAN...
I think that in exercise 3 you can say the consequences of what? The consequences of the German Unification for France. And at the end check the word World. I think that in exercise 2 you can include that the German Confederation was formed by 38 states and the most important were: Prussia and Austria. In 1818 Prussia created a custom union, the Zollverein and explain the three wars that caused the German unification.
    Bye :)

  4. Laura, you have to complete it with the information you have on the book. The names of the colonies are there. There is a map on the Powerpoint presentation with the colonial empires and the colonies every country had. Here you have some links you can use:

  6. Hello Mari Luz,

No, you only have to put the names of the colonies you have on the book. The map will be for next Wednesday. Remember that you have to study for Monday.

    See you on Monday.

  7. Hello Yolanda,

The picture you´ve chosen is about the reunification of Germany in 1990 (It was divided into two different countries from 1947 to 1990), but the exercises were about the unification of Germany in 1870. You should look for a different picture. You could choose a photograph about Bismarck, Wilhem I or the foundation of the Second Reich at Versailles Palace.

    Have a nice weekend.
