Question 4 is wrong: The relation is the Treaty of Alcaçovas: this treaty put an end to the succession war in Castile. One of the clauses of the treaty was the decision on the areas of influence of Castile and Portugal in the exploration of the Atlantic Ocean. The treaty recognized the sovereignity of Castile over the Canary Islands, but Portugal got the exclusive right of the exploration of the Atlantic coasts of Africa. This is why the Catholic Monarchs decided to finance Christopher COlumbus´s expedition to the West. The house got its name from the County of Trastámara and the founder was Henry II of Castile.<br /><br />Question 2:<br />Beltrán de la Cueva was a nobleman, politician and a Spanish military man. He was in the court of the king, Enrique IV The Impotent. The people thought that Juana (Enrique's daughter) was daughter of Beltrán, so there the War of Succession started.<br /><br />Question 3:<br />They called him "The Impotent" because he hadn't any children in his first marriage with Blanca. He had a daughter in his second marriage with Juana de Portugal but his enemies told that his daughter was daughter of Beltrán de la Cueva.
